Last night was awesome - I got a taste of the good life! Josh's department had an "end of the year" dinner at a place called Chops in Buckhead (the fancy part of Atlanta). The minute we got there, we were handed some champagne. I had 2 glasses before we even sat down at the table!
After we sat down, they ordered a couple of bottles of wine - and it wasn't the cheep stuff! :) Waiters kept pouring me a new drink before I'd finished the one I was holding! I had to cut myself off though since I was driving. I let Josh drink - it was his company dinner after all. Plus it's never good to be the drunk wife at a company dinner party. :)
Next, they brought out a "seafood tower" appetizer - it had lobster tails, shrimp, and two types of oysters, one from the west coast and one from the east coast. I tried both - with a saltine and some hot sauce of course!
THEN I ordered a $10 salad and a $52 filet mignon!!! (I was going to get the smaller cut but I was sitting by the main boss (one of the partners of the company) and he told me to get the bigger one....so I did! :)
I also made the partner laugh really loud at one point and he high fived me. Josh was impressed that I was shmoozing with one of the partners of his company. :)
THEN we had dessert wine and I got some creme brulee that was DELISH.
Josh and I were talking the whole way home about how much we guessed the bill was for that dinner. We figured the two of us probably had over $200 worth of food and drink...and there were about 15 people at dinner. This morning, Josh texted me and said that the bill ended up being over $4000!!!! FOUR GRAND!! It just blows my mind! I get upset when Josh and I spend over $25 on dinner for the both of us. :)
It was so much fun pretending to be rich! Too bad my body can't take it - I had a HUGE migraine this morning. But it was totally worth it! :)
(And no - none of these pictures are actually from last night. I wasn't going to be the lame-o taking pictures of all the food/drinks/etc at the meal!) :)
