The Breastfeeding Diaries

Julie over at The Girl in the Red Shoes is an awesome blogger with the cutest little boy that was born just 3 days after Graham. I love reading about her life and seeing her little guy grow. She has a series on her blog called "The Breastfeeding Diaries." All the stories are great - very encouraging to new moms. Today, I'm guest posting about my breastfeeding experience on her blog. (My first guest post!) Hope you pop over there and check it out!

Update

I've been such a great blogger this month, right? :)

Graham was in the NICU for a week and then Josh took another 2 full weeks off from work. This week is the first week I've had a little bit of down time. I'm working on Graham's birth story - it'll probably take me forever to finish! And then there are a million other things I want to blog about from his first month. I've got to buckle down, but it's so hard when all I want to do is stare at this sweet face. :)

Italy Posts

Y'all....

I REALLY wanted to finish all of my Italy posts. I have 18 pages left in my journal to type up...when am I going to find the time to do that?!

Especially now since all I wanna blog about is the baby. :)

One of these days I'm just going to knuckle down and finish....hopefully before the baby gets here because then I'll never get it done!!

Update

So other than the Italy posts, I've been really slacking on the blogging. Work's been super busy, church has been keeping us busy, and life in general has been crazy!

Here's a quick update:

1. I started taking violin lessons. :) I played in the orchestra in middle school and high school and I was pretty good by the time I graduated. Since then, I've played a little here and there just for fun. And I've really missed it. So I did some Google-ing and found a place near my work that offers lessons to people of all ages. And I signed up! I've had 2 lessons so far (they're once a week on Thursdays) and I'm loving it! I've been pretty good about practicing on my own too. Yay me! Hope I keep it up!!

2. Josh's brother, Jordan, found out he's going to be deployed to Afghanistan on Feb 16th. We went up this past weekend to spend time with him and the rest of Josh's family before he leaves. We'll all miss him while he's gone. I know God will keep him safe while he's there. But if anyone out in blogger world is reading this, please keep Jordan in your prayers. I'm also praying for Josh, his mom, dad, sister and brother. I know they'll be having a hard time while Jordan's gone.

3. Work has been SO BUSY. I know I haven't really blogged about work recently. That's because it's been going really well. In fact...and it is so weird for me to be saying this...I actually LOVE my job now. And if you've read my early blog posts, you know that I've got a lot of..."baggage" that goes along with my career. But I've been in this position for over 2 years now, and I really like it. The people in my department are great - they respect me and support me. And I just feel so much more confident in myself and in my work. I've been debating going back and deleting some of my old posts about work. But part of me wants to keep them to show what I've been through and how I got to where I am now. I can't decide...

4. My friend Kara is pregnant and due at the end of the month! We had a shower for her - it was a blast! I need to post some pics soon. Can't wait to hold that little baby!

5. My niece had her 7th birthday. Can't believe she's already 7!!

6. My friend Erin is back home. This one's a long story that I want to devote more time to with another blog post. So I won't go into it here. But I'm glad she's home! We've been spending lots of time together!

So yeah, I've been pretty busy. And I know it's not going to slow down any time soon. But I'm loving life!!

God,
Thank you for all your amazing blessings! Thanks for friends, for new experiences, for family and for a a job I enjoy. Please be with Jordan while he's over seas. Keep him safe. Please bring comfort to the family and help ease their worries. Please be with my friend Kara as she finishes out her pregnancy. I pray she has a safe and easy delivery!

You are so good to me. All of this is your name.
Amen.

Oops :)

Soooooo they blocked blogger at work....

And I'm pretty sure I'm the reason....

Oops. :)

I totally feel like I got in trouble.

But no one ever said anything. (Thank goodness!) They just blocked the site...

Oops. :)

I really only blogged during lunch or when I was taking a quick break...

Oh well. Live and learn. At least I didn't get fired. :-P

And I'm sure that blogger won't be blocked in ITALY!!!!!!

Catching Up

Ok, I've been a bad blogger lately. Work was super busy...and then when it slowed down, I kind of lost my mojo for writing. But I'm back! To catch up...

Work's been better lately. A bit slower paced -which has been nice after the last few months. And praise the lord - our company is doing well and we're actually getting raises AND bonuses! Thank God!

And...I don't want to jinks anything...but the hubs and I may be planning a trip for the fall. A trip of a lifetime! More about that later though. I'm scared to talk about it too much since I REALLY want it to happen...I'll give you a hint though:  :)

We're going to Vegas the first week of April - I'm super excited about that. Staying at the Luxor - so cool! Can't wait to party it up!

I went to my first "club" in Atlanta a few weekends ago - the Gold Room. Yes, I'm 26 and just now went to my first club. Well, except for lame-o Club Europe that I went to when I was 18...but that doesn't count cuz it's an 18-and-up club and it was...well...lame. :) But I wasn't impressed with the Gold Room either. I think I'm more of a bar girl. I like places where there's less pressure to dress super hot, a place that's calmer, quieter, and a place where a rum and coke doesn't cost $9. But we were there to celebrate my good friend Veena's b-day and I DID have fun hanging out with her and dancing the night away!

We might be getting roommates - my best bud and her hubby might be moving in for a while. I think we'll have a ton of fun!

We haven't made much progress with the kitchen. I still can't make up my mind about the backsplash! I've got one more sample coming in the mail that I want to look at and then I've GOT to decide. We're so close to finishing!!

I think that's about it for now! Tonight we're heading to Dave and Busters to celebrate another friends birthday. Tomorrow we've got a church event...which reminds me - I want to write a blog post about our church....gotta remember to do that!

Happy Weekend!

Hello. My name is Holly, and I'm a creepy blog-stalker

Yesterday I figured out how to "subscribe" to non-blogger.com based blogs and how to show all the blogs I follow on my blog. (Finally - took me long enough to figure that out!) So I decided today that I should stop being "Holly the creepy blog-stalker" and start getting more involved in the blogging community. I went ahead and subscribed to some of my favorite blogs and I'm going to try to comment more on posts that I enjoy. Of course, now that I've made this commitment, I'll need to be more diligent on updating my own blog. :)

The other thing that set off my whole new blogging attitude was that I got my first comment from someone other than my hubby. It. Was. Awesome!!!! It literally made my day. So thanks to the Newlywed Next Door for my first non-husband comment! Next time I watch the X-Files, I'll think of you. :)
