Last week, my husband's great aunt passed away. She lived across the street while he was growing up and was like a grandmother to him. The funeral was beautiful. Josh was a pallbearer and he and his family took comfort in knowing that she was now in heaven with her husband and the three little babies she had lost.

This week, my husband's grandmother on his father's side passed away. She had suffered with ALS for a few years and was in failing health. She was a sweet little woman who was so happy when Josh and I got married. The funeral is Saturday. She's also in heaven now with her husband.

 

Both women were incredibly kind, caring women. They both followed God and were so good to Josh and his family.

Aunt Gladys and Grandma D - we'll miss you so much.

Lord,
I pray for Josh and his family for their loss. Please give them comfort. Bless Aunt Gladys and Grandma D - I know they are with you now. Give me the strength and knowledge to be a comfort to Josh and his family.

I've got a HUGE secret!!!

It's Wednesday, July 27th...and I've got a HUGE secret!

I'm not going to post this...not just yet at least...

But I've got to get it out!!!

(No I'm not preggers.) :)

Josh was chosen for a tax trek!!!!!!!!!!!!

"A what?" you ask.

It's something offered through Josh's job - we applied to go live somewhere in Europe for 3 months...

And...

I think we got it!!!

I say "think" because the email  he got said we were "penciled in" to go....

But his boss and the Atlanta partner of the company were cc-ed on that email...

And the email said "Congrats!"

So why the hell would they do all that if we weren't going to get it?

And the best part...

The very best part....

The most AWESOME part....




We were chosen to go to ITALY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!





Wow - isn't that crazy?!?!?!

I'm trying to be calm and patient and not get TOO excited in case it doesn't pan out...

But I'm praying like crazy that it does! :)

Thank you for this blessing! Josh and I have been praying to go to Italy. We are so excited - thank you thank you thank you for this!!!

Busy Times!

I've been so busy, I haven't been able to blog! Here's what we've been up to lately:

We visited a sunflower farm...

Attended a shower for my good friend Ntasha...

Ate some cupcakes...

Went to the beach...

Ate some more cupcakes...

Got mehndi for Ntasha's wedding...

Had a blast at Ntasha and Vishal's Sangeet... 

Had even more fun at Ntasha's and Vishal's wedding...

[Yes, the wedding was all day and required a wardrobe change. :)]

Welcomed Josh's cousin's new baby...

And have just been thoroughly enjoying the summer!

Kitchen è Finita!!

Yes, that's right - the kitchen is FINISHED! Can you believe it? I can't...it seems crazy that we actually finished such a huge project. And I'm SO happy with how it turned out! Here are some pics from our super fun "Kitchen Open House" where we showed off our hard work to all our friends and family!
